A bit of writing news

I've been remiss again on posting.  I hope someone reads and maybe will comment.  It has been a while since commenting has happened on my blog.
I'm working on two novels at once now.  One is a clean romance entitled The Forever Bond and the other is a science fiction story entitled The Silver Dart.  The romance I intend to develop so I can use a portion of a former novella to put at the end.  The science fiction novel now stands around 10,000 words.  The title is about a man whose wife is a genius who has constructed the ship.
Also, I've submitted one of my older novels which made the rounds in search of an agent with no luck there.  I've submitted A Reason for Rescue, its title, to Wild Rose Press.  I'll not hear word from it until after the first of the year.  It is a clean romance with perhaps a touch of paranormal or mystery elements.
I've inserted my science fiction cover for Higher Mission which has been out over a month now.  It is available in ebook form from Champagne Books.  Just go to Champagne Books and look for my author name and click on it.  I would give you a link but they don't seem to be working right now.  Also, I'm trying to construct a youtube for Higher Mission but I don't know when that will be done.

Higher Mission now available at Champagne Books

I've been remiss at posting.  Two things have happened since last post.  One, I participated in a book signing in Paducah, KY which was organized by Linda Swift, an author and resident there.  I joined five lady authors: Linda, Celia, Laurie, Danielle and Pam.  I only sold one book and gave away one away one and swapped with Danielle for one of her books.  That's okay because it was a good experience for me.
The other bit of news is my science fiction novel Higher Mission is out in ebook form priced at $4.95 at Champagne Books.  I'll see if I can give the link.  http://Champagnebooks.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=691  Yes it works.

Cover for SF novel Higher Mission

My cover has just arrived for my science fiction novel Higher Mission.  The novel will release in October this year.  I have yet to read the final version and when my editor sends it I'll have ten days to read it and send it back. I questioned the man on the cover holding a blaster.  My main character, Cramer does not use a blaster and in fact never held one.  He kicked a blaster out of an enemy's hand once.  My editor told me oftentimes that the cover captures the essence of the novel.  In this case it pictures Cramer as a person who plunges headlong into any situation he faces.  Put that way I guess it is okay to show him holding a blaster.  I won't have a buy link until a week or so before release.  I plan to have book markers made with my romance novel cover and blurb on one side and the SF novel cover and blurb on the other side.  I'm going to a book signing for my romance novel on September 28 in Paducah, KY.

More news on novel publications

I've received two reviews for my novel A Change of Heart on Amazon, both being five stars.  Those were by Anne Patrick and Linda Weaver Clarke.  I have appeared on Gail Pallotta's blog with an interview and will appear on Linda's blog in August with an interview concerning my novel.
My science fiction novel will appear in October via Champagne Books.  That manuscript is now in the hands of a line editor.  I'll be reading it one more time before finalization.

Continuing news about my two novels.

I now have the POD copies of A Change of Heart.  I sold seven copies of the print version at a recent alumni banquet.  I've had positive comments from two of the people.  I heard from the daughter of one lady that her mother is reading it through for the second time and after that she will let the daughter read it.  We should all have fans like that.  I have given two print copies away, one to a couple at church and the other to the nice lady who cuts my hair.  She's given me good reviews on two of my short stories.
Also, just tonight I finished revising according to my editor on my science fiction novel The Higher Mission.  That is due for release in October this year.
I've still not progressed on my website so I'll continue to use this blog for my posts.

I am trying to construct a website but am having trouble.  Anyway, my novel, A Change of Heart, has now been released and is at www.wingsepress.com.  I do not have the POD copies yet and am not sure when I'll get them.  You will see the digital version is priced at $6.00 and the print version is priced at $11/95.

I have my cover for my romance novel A Change of Heart which appears above and will be released in March.  I've not yet been assigned an editor and I hope this means they don't think it needs much cleaning up.  I hope I don't have to rush at the last minute to make changes to comply with the March release date.  I don't yet know the price but I seen $6.00 for a face value and this may be for the digital version.  I've elected to have 30 copies made via POD and so the price there is still unknown.  Wings ePress gives me 30% royalties.  I believe it will be available on Amazon and B&N as digital versions.  The cover artist from Wings, Richard Stroud, did an excellent job in capturing Jody and Leroy's expressions to go along with the storyline.  Jody's heart is covered in ice and she holds Leroy at arms length for a number of years in the novel.  Jody feels her career leaves no room in it for a man, that being Leroy of course.  For those of you who read my short story Lab Partners available from The Wild Rose Press the characters Leroy and Jody are taken from that story which is in the 1950s and has cast them in modern times.  I can legally do this because of a clause in the contract.

Another contract coming

I'm pleased to announce that Wings ePress has accepted my novel A Change of Heart.  I've included the image of my short story Lab Partners so you know the story is about those characters only cast into modern times.  Leroy and Jody have closure in this novel.  I've not yet received the contract but the editor assures me one is coming.  On my other novel The Higher Mission I have been assigned Ms. Judy Gill and she's the one who accepted it in the first place.  She said she would ask the head editor if she could be assigned to me.  I hope she isn't disappointed and I hope the editing isn't too extensive.  She was pleased I had already formatted the novel to their specs.
