New writings and submission

I'm working on two new stories.   One is done on its first draft.  It is entitled The Forever Bond and numbers 32,000 words so won't make novel status.  The second story I'm hoping will stretch to novel status.  At present it numbers 22,000 words and is science fiction.  Its title is The Silver Dart.
The first story is a sweet romance involving Buddy, Nina and Sally.  Which girl will Buddy wind up with?  Did the dimensional rift really happen?  The second story is science fiction and involves the abduction of Jade Cromwell's wife and daughter.  Cromwell sets out on a long journey to find them and has the companionship of Spike, his Australian Sheep Dog and the Silver Dart, a high tech space ship his wife, Darla, who is a genius, has constructed.
A bit of exciting news is my submission of an older novel, A Reason for Rescue to The Wild Rose Press.  My editor of past stories, Nancy Swanson, likes the novel and has indicated she will compose a letter to the senior editor for a contract.  She still has to finish reading it but is anxious to see how it ends.  That's a good sign and she said it is one of my best writings so far.  I had submitted this novel to several agents but only netted rejections.  I spent a lot of time in research for this novel as the protagonist, Clay, travels to many foreign lands to treat sick people with the herbs and plant extracts of those lands.  He has a romance interest, Julianne, who saves his life many times, being in the right place at the right time.  Clay must deal with a terrorist, an arms dealer, a strict Army Captain, a beautiful woman named Gretchen, dangerous lands, an island and its goddess, a prophetess named Lana and of course Julianne.
Sorry, no image available for any of these yet.

A bit of writing news

I've been remiss again on posting.  I hope someone reads and maybe will comment.  It has been a while since commenting has happened on my blog.
I'm working on two novels at once now.  One is a clean romance entitled The Forever Bond and the other is a science fiction story entitled The Silver Dart.  The romance I intend to develop so I can use a portion of a former novella to put at the end.  The science fiction novel now stands around 10,000 words.  The title is about a man whose wife is a genius who has constructed the ship.
Also, I've submitted one of my older novels which made the rounds in search of an agent with no luck there.  I've submitted A Reason for Rescue, its title, to Wild Rose Press.  I'll not hear word from it until after the first of the year.  It is a clean romance with perhaps a touch of paranormal or mystery elements.
I've inserted my science fiction cover for Higher Mission which has been out over a month now.  It is available in ebook form from Champagne Books.  Just go to Champagne Books and look for my author name and click on it.  I would give you a link but they don't seem to be working right now.  Also, I'm trying to construct a youtube for Higher Mission but I don't know when that will be done.

Higher Mission now available at Champagne Books

I've been remiss at posting.  Two things have happened since last post.  One, I participated in a book signing in Paducah, KY which was organized by Linda Swift, an author and resident there.  I joined five lady authors: Linda, Celia, Laurie, Danielle and Pam.  I only sold one book and gave away one away one and swapped with Danielle for one of her books.  That's okay because it was a good experience for me.
The other bit of news is my science fiction novel Higher Mission is out in ebook form priced at $4.95 at Champagne Books.  I'll see if I can give the link.  http://Champagnebooks.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=691  Yes it works.

Cover for SF novel Higher Mission

My cover has just arrived for my science fiction novel Higher Mission.  The novel will release in October this year.  I have yet to read the final version and when my editor sends it I'll have ten days to read it and send it back. I questioned the man on the cover holding a blaster.  My main character, Cramer does not use a blaster and in fact never held one.  He kicked a blaster out of an enemy's hand once.  My editor told me oftentimes that the cover captures the essence of the novel.  In this case it pictures Cramer as a person who plunges headlong into any situation he faces.  Put that way I guess it is okay to show him holding a blaster.  I won't have a buy link until a week or so before release.  I plan to have book markers made with my romance novel cover and blurb on one side and the SF novel cover and blurb on the other side.  I'm going to a book signing for my romance novel on September 28 in Paducah, KY.

More news on novel publications

I've received two reviews for my novel A Change of Heart on Amazon, both being five stars.  Those were by Anne Patrick and Linda Weaver Clarke.  I have appeared on Gail Pallotta's blog with an interview and will appear on Linda's blog in August with an interview concerning my novel.
My science fiction novel will appear in October via Champagne Books.  That manuscript is now in the hands of a line editor.  I'll be reading it one more time before finalization.

Continuing news about my two novels.

I now have the POD copies of A Change of Heart.  I sold seven copies of the print version at a recent alumni banquet.  I've had positive comments from two of the people.  I heard from the daughter of one lady that her mother is reading it through for the second time and after that she will let the daughter read it.  We should all have fans like that.  I have given two print copies away, one to a couple at church and the other to the nice lady who cuts my hair.  She's given me good reviews on two of my short stories.
Also, just tonight I finished revising according to my editor on my science fiction novel The Higher Mission.  That is due for release in October this year.
I've still not progressed on my website so I'll continue to use this blog for my posts.

I am trying to construct a website but am having trouble.  Anyway, my novel, A Change of Heart, has now been released and is at www.wingsepress.com.  I do not have the POD copies yet and am not sure when I'll get them.  You will see the digital version is priced at $6.00 and the print version is priced at $11/95.
